The goal of this program is to improve the content and add functionality to the “Who Will Love America ?” web book. We anticipate the following the types of improvements: Refine and add “citizen actions” – We will add new “citizen actions” as new ones are suggested and circumstance dictate. In addition, we will continue to refine the existing “citizen actions” to ensure we make it clear how each “citizen action” makes a difference and thus keeps the country stronger. Add capability to Print “citizen actions” - Currently the only way to print the description of a citizen action, or any part of the book for that matter, is to use the Internet Explorer print capability. The format of what is printed is crude. We would like to incorporate a capability into the book that would enable a reader to print single actions and to select a list of “citizen actions” and print the list either with or without the full description. Selection and printing of “citizen actions” could be a) by category (there are six categories of “citizen actions”), b) in alpha order and/or, c) a specific action. We believe this capability would increase a reader’s ability to carry out various actions of their choosing. Maintain and add reader-submitted stories - Reader’s are encouraged to submit stories that relate to various sections of the book. These user stories can be viewed and read throughout the book. This activity involves receiving, verifying, editing and inserting reader stories and experiences into the appropriate portion of the book. Keep “Overwhelming Issues” chapter current –The purpose of Chapter I, Overwhelming Issues, is to identify and quantify the magnitude of the major issues we face in the U.S. As the nature of issues change, this chapter needs to reflect those changes. Also we want to do a more thorough job trying to give the reader a sense of magnitude/impact of each issue. |
