Profile of Nick Homer – Executive Director

Nick Homer lives in Southern California. He is married to Debra Balousek and has two daughters, Emily and Rachel.

He was born in Valdosta, Georgia; grew up in Wilton, Connecticut; and spent much of his adult life in Irvine, California. He graduated from Duke University and has a graduate degree in Computer & Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

He has been a management consultant his entire career – first with Arthur Andersen, then as a partner with Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and since 1990 as co-founder of The Information Technology Group, a “Big 4 alternative” information technology consulting firm.

Nick has substituted in elementary, middle and high school as part of Good Citizen’s initiative to develop materials to supplement the teaching of citizenship at the elementry school level. He also tutors young adults in Spanish, math and English.

Outside of work, he has owned an avocado grove in north San Diego county, was a nationally ranked pole vaulter and finished the Ironman triathlon in Hawaii in 1987.
